Youth4Climate: Powering Action flagship global event will convene 150 young leaders to bring forth concrete climate actions
Committed, inspiring and bold climate leaders from all over the world will meet during the UN High-Level General Assembly week to discuss youth-led engagement and solutions in climate actions
All over the world, young people are fighting for the right to a livable future. Despite famines, droughts, and rising sea levels, they refuse to give up on what older generations have promised for decades but not delivered; meaningful action to address a heating planet and advance climate justice.
Against all odds Today’s young generations are carrying a full backpack: they are still bearing the scars of a global financial crisis and enduring the impacts of an entrenched and inherited climate crisis.
COP27 Italian Pavilion
The COP27 side event, Diving into Youth4Climate Solutions, aims to provide a comprehensive and engaging overview to follow-up on the Call for Solutions, launched by the Government of Italy and UNDP at the on 20 September 2022, in New York. The event will be an important occasion to reiterate the Youth4Climate strategic vision and next steps. It will illustrate the main conclusions emerged from the Youth4Climate: Powering Action flagship global event. Key partners, including multi-stakeholders and youth groups, will be involved in an interactive dialogue addressed to explain the needs for youth-led solutions on urban sustainability, energy, education, and food & agriculture. Furthermore, participants will discuss what in their opinion a successful solution should look like. The Youth4Climate initiative is aligned to the COP priorities. Given the setting, this side event will have strong focus on the Youth4Capacity program, youth engagement at COP27, and synergies with COP 28.

Adopted at the Youth4Climate:
Driving Ambition Summit in 2021, the Youth4Climate Manifesto is a synthesis document bringing together the ideas and concerns of 400 young climate leaders. It highlights youth voices under 4 main themes: 1) Youth Driving Ambition, 2) Sustainable Recovery, 3) Non-State Actors' Engagement and Climate Conscious Society. The Manifesto was presented at Pre-COP26 in Milan and COP26 in Glasgow, with some elements being included into the Glasgow Climate Pact.
